Rostec will supply 50 Mi-8AMT helicopters to UTair
''Russian Helicopters'' Holding (part of Rostec State Corporation) during the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Show agreed with ‘’UTair Helicopter Services’’ about 50 Mi-8AMT helicopters delivery.
Andrey Boginsky, Director General of Russian Helicopters and Andrey Martirosov, CEO of ‘’UTair’’, has signed the document. The agreement assumes helicopters delivery at the beginning of 2022.
"UTair is the largest operator of Russian helicopters and today's agreement aimed at the timely and systematic airline's fleet renewal. One of the agreement terms is to improve aircraft's efficiency further operation, which will allow operating flights with a two-person crew. This option has been implemented successfully on another helicopter, the most modern Mi-171A2 whose first operator was UTair airline", - said Andrei Boginsky.
Flight and technical characteristics of Mi-8AMT provide transportation of up to 27 passengers and cargo up to 4 tons inside cargo cabin or on an external sling. With a wide range of additional equipment, Mi-8AMT helicopters can be used in transport, passenger, fire, sanitary, search and rescue and emergency versions.
"In our plans to use 50 latest modification helicopters to carry passengers and cargo within the oil and gas projects framework for our customers, first of all - in the project "Vostok Oil" of PJSC "Rosneft". Our main flights in difficult climatic conditions carry out using Russian-made aircraft from ‘’Russian Helicopters’’. Together, we managed to create a unique product for the world helicopter market with the highest level of flight safety at a minimum price for heavy helicopters. "Utair’’ already operates more than 100 helicopters from the modern Mi-17 family. The 50 new machines are an important part of our fleet management plan implementation, as outlined in the airline's financial model. Fleet replenishment will bring a positive budgetary effect and will create many new jobs for pilots, engineers and ground service workers," said Andrei Martirosov.
International Aviation and Space Show MAKS-2021 takes place from July 20 to 25 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The air show jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Rostec State Corporation. The host of MAKS-2019 is OAO "Aviasalon". The value of contracts and agreements signed during the Air Show in 2019 exceeded 250 billion rubles, and its business potential was about 400 billion rubles.
